Cleaning with a ‘magic cloth’ is easy (or so the manufacturers tell us). But is a magic cleaning cloth any better for cleaning, say bar stools, than a piece of cloth torn from an old cotton shirt?
Well, you’ll need to try it out for yourself. But one benefit is that no perfume is used to enhance the ‘magic’ in the cloth which is odorless and will not inflame those who have nasal allergies.
What I found magic cloths useful for
Kitchen furniture can be cleaned really well with these magic cloths. I have found this especially true for chairs and the long legs of bar stools. I found these cloths good for cleaning patio furniture especially aluminum tables and folding chairs which had aluminum frames but a material (faux leather) seat.
I used the magic cloth in its dry form first and then wetted it to remove heavy dirt where rain had splashed around the leg areas of the kitchen furniture.
For convenience too, the magic cloth is very useful as quite small size versions can be purchased, including pocket sized cloths. The larger cloths can be used for bathrooms, floors & even carpets, with the smaller cloths being useful for small glass windows and face mirrors.
The ‘magic’ is supposed to save us several dollars on chemical cleaning agents because of the cloth’s cleaning potential (even when dry) which is superior to most detergents and soaps. It can be wetted and used wet for more heavy duty work but it can be rinsed in plain water (and dried) and used again and again. The magic of the cloth is a big plus for the environment as it is an environmentally friendly way of cleaning due to its lack of chemical additives.
Alternatives to magic cleaning cloths
Other varieties of cleaning cloths are also available such as cellulose cloths (strong, thick, and hard wearing), scourers and hygiene wipes. Other cloths are said to remain germ free, and these are marketed as anti-bacterial cloths.
